The boys cross country team accomplished a major milestone on Monday at Epiphany, winning a big meet for the first time ever. Led by a pair of top-5 finishes by Gabe Lewis (second) and Michael Spong (fifth), the Saints had the low score of 50, very narrowly edging out runner-up Parrott (51). Michael Dunn came on very strong late to finish 11th, Estevan Morales battled valiantly to take 15th, and freshman Quincy Brickhouse provided some much-needed depth to round out JPII’s scorers in 17th. Fellow freshman Liam Lewis had an impress debut as he was 18th, followed by Levi Vogelsong in 38th, freshman Sam Winkler in 50th and Davis Walsh in 57th. Seniors Emma Anderson and Avery Respess were the only two girls runners for the short-handed Saints, who were without several runners for various excused reasons.
