We are pleased to announce that assistant lacrosse coach Gene Fox has been elevated to head coach. Fox is replacing Kyle Peacock who launched the program and has stepped away to spend more time with family.
Lacrosse has been a part of Coach Fox’s life for more than 30 years. He began playing as a freshman at Smithsburg High School (MD) where he and his teammates competed for two conference championships, winning one. He earned all-conference honors as a midfielder his senior year and went on to play at Catawba College where he played both middie and attack for the Indians.Â
Coach Fox enjoys progressing the sport and developing the lacrosse IQ of young athletes. His coaching career started with Pitt County Youth Lacrosse (better known as Pitt Lax) and he starting coaching offense here at JPII in 2022. Fox is Platinum Certified through USA Lacrosse and has taught at several coaching and player clinics and coached multiple travel teams. He has participated in USA Lacrosse programs and clinics for several years including their athlete development program.
