The boys and girls track and field teams had a fantastic season opener on Thursday in a 9-team meet at Louisburg. The boys won the meet in dominating fashion with 164 points as no other team scored in triple digits, and the girls team took third with 88 points, just one point out of second. All four boys relays set school records, part of an effort in which 10 school records were broken:
- Percy Shorter took 1st in the 100 and 3rd in the 200
- Hiet Zell, TT Moore, James Carmack, and Shorter cruised to victories in the 4×100 and the 4×200
- Keegan Jones, Adam Ford, Nathan Wright, and Gabe Lewis were second in the 4×400
- Michael Spong, Quincy Brickhouse, Michael Dunn and Gabe Lewis won the 4×800
- Moore won the long jump and was second in the 100
- Caleb Stahl was second in the shot put and discus (school record)
- Carson Koesters was fourth in the shot put and seventh in the discus
- Armando Perez was seventh in the shot put
- Carmack was third in the 100 and second in the 200
- Zell was fourth in the 100
- Lewis was second in the 1600 with Spong in sixth
- Jones was fourth (school record) in the 400, two spots ahead of Wright
- Dunn was third in the 800
- Liam Lewis was fourth in the 3200
For the girls:
- Rissa Moore was second in the shot put and sixth in the discus
- Ari Atkinson won the long jump, was second in the 100, and took seventh in the 400
- Vanessa Cabello won the 300 hurdles (school record) and was third in the 100 hurdles and sixth in the long jump
- Avery Respess was second in the high jump (school record) sixth in the 100 hurdles and seventh in the long jump
- Rayla Golightly was fourth in the 100 hurdles and 200, and eighth in the 100
- Noemie Drouadaine set school records in the 1600 (fifth) and 3200 (first)
